Shoot fast and don't miss. Solid advice.

Crappy shooters don't clear the PPR without it spinning using a gun they've never held before.

The PSA 11 years ago was a challenge and it has remained so every year. I've got nothing against a challenge. I've got a thing against targets that cannot be set to provide the same "challenge" to everyone and cannot reasonably be practiced to improve your skill set except at matches.

Practice. Both live fire and dry fire. It truly is the key.

you can practice on them... Get airsoft versions, shoot one at a local club, or head out to the clubs that have one and shoot there.

You're right, I'm not a crappy shooter. I was. Then I learned the key to success is practice, and now I shoot with a few sponsors backing me.

my point about the gun was it's not about equipment. (I'd never even handled a 2011 before, let alone shot one. and in a caliber I never shot before, no less). My point is learn the fundamentals. stance, grip, front sight, press. I would even be willing to walk up to it with an 8 round mag and not be scared...

the target was set the same for everybody, and wasn't moving when the buzzer went off. All shooters had the chance to engage it first. If some splatter or wind got it to begin moving while you were off chasing the smily face movers, tough noogies. Part of shooting a COF is making decisions.

Boy, I really wish thed get rid of all that challenging stuff you actually have to have some skill at to do..........................................
ya know, so then guys without the skill can compete !

    wait........... what ?

thats gotta be some of the dumbest shit I ever heard.

The truth is isnt not the particular target you need to practice, its fundamnetal marksmanship at speed and a basic understanding of the mechanics of said target.

    Having said that.

Looks to me like an awesome match ! And I LOVE difficult shit, those movers are sweet as fuck. Great stuff.

I was at USTC this past weekend in a Defoor pistol class, and we finished up by hitting the Rodgers range You want challenging steel ? That shit just eats ammo !

Heres a Rodgers range demo for those unfamiliar. Cool stuff.
the steel is all computer programmed so you can run all kinds of programs where certain plates appear in whatever order and you have X amount of time to hit them.

Results are up. 28th in open out of 177 shooters. Made some stupid mistakes that probably cost me 4 or 5 places.

that steel looks amazing! Like real life duck hunt!

i look to be in about 78/220 in the pistol (not bad for tanking the first 2 stages d/t ammo error) and 9th overall in shotgun, having never run open shotgun before!!!!

well worth it! thanks to all who put it on.

Great match this wekend. I like the way that they changed the stages. I just wish I had time to actually practice. To many stupid mistakes, but I had fun. The Polish Plate rack wasn't that hard, more of a mental trap.

For as sucky as I shot, hopefully the Lewis Class will be my friend.

I was shooting with Matt Trout and saw him destroy stage 4; 27 poppers and 2 reloads in 8.6 seconds. Not sure if he won the match, but he had to win that stage.

The Palmyra Sportsman's Association Shootout is the largest falling steel plate match in the country. It's an annual event and great fun... even with the carnival targets.

Polish Plate Rack... bring it on. It was my favorite stage at PSA. I was the guy shooting the PPR when it moved. I was also shooting shotgun in the afternoon. Pellets could of hit it from cleaning the poppers first

I shot with BerksCountyDave on Sunday, he is kinda fast
