Berks County LTC Cost: $25 for initial application. I assume the same for a renewal, as I see no specific information on renewals.

    Montgomery: New $19 or $40/ Renew $19 or $40/ Website: http://www.montcopa.org/countyoffice...un_permit_.htm

The $40 permit is a nice plastic laminated card with your digital photo on it. They take your picture there in the office for the $40 permit. The $19 permit is a piece of paper with your passport photo attached which you must supply.

I renewed mine back in May. My permit was originally issued in Centre County. The Montgomery County sheriff also requires a background check from your local PD if you're a first time applicant or you're renewing from another county.

My local police chief's policy was to run all the background checks he received but wait to MAIL them back to the sheriff's office on the following Monday. I had a very hard time convincing him to fax my results to the sheriff's office, but he did it. I was in a hurry because my permit had expired. I was pissed because what my local PD was essentially doing was instituting a 3-7 day waiting period on carry permits.

The other thing that bothers me is the sheriff's office only processes permits between the hours of 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM, Monday thru Friday, so if you want an LTC in Montgomery County you have to take time off from work to get it.

As for references, Montgomery Co. doesn't require that your references be residents of the county like some other counties do. They did not check my references.

    Maybe thisis outdated:

    from the Beaver Co website

"This process can take 20-45 business days to complete. We will contact you by mail as to the outcome. "

Three of my friends, and I, all got ours on the spot.

    Luzerne County

$25 apply/ $25 renew i think they only take a check but not positive
Last i checked they do it at the main office in Wilkes Barre and also the annex in Hazleton

Everyone should be filling out the same form, the only difference should be cost.

To the county that is taking 25-45 days that is totaly BS.
It should take about 5 - 10 minutes.

All that is required is a PICS check, a few lines of typing on your card and a picture.
The only easy day was yesterday
Does anyone know the number for 9-1-1?
