County Carry Permit Information - We need your help gathering information.

Holy resurrected thread Batman! LOL! Glad you had a positive experience. Your process is the way it should be in all counties. Show up, fill out form, pay $20, wait a few minutes, get picture taken, get LTCF, go home.

Sorry for waking up the dead, but it looked as if the information for Perry County was a little out of date. When I saw this thread, I thought it might be a good place to add my first post.

I agree...all counties in Pennsylvania should be this simple...after all it is our constitutional right.

Do you fail to see the irony in claiming it's a Constitutional right when you're required to pay for a license to exercise it?

Trust me...the irony of it isn't lost on me. Unfortunately, that seems to be the way a lot of things are in our world today. We should not have to have a "license" (whether paid for or free) to do something that is supposed to be a "right".

I visit several other State and National gun sites...and PAFOA is frequently recommended as the "go to" site for PA info. I just hope the folks looking for the info actually sign up and post questions in the forums rather than just relying on the info elsewhere on the site.

While that's a nice hope/thought, doesn't it trouble you that the "info elsewhere on the site" is official info and not just from an ordinary poster in a forum thread?

I mean if the "go to" site can't keep the laws and other relevant info current how credible is the site? Keep in mind, I am talking about the info posted by the site, not a forum thread. Shouldn't 15 months be enough time to update stuff like the fee for a LTCF?

Must have been before May 2011, the county website says $20, ironically on the PAFOA Counties page it's one of the few listed correctly as $20.

Yea but a lot of the government agencies don't want us to carry and thereby don't care, this site however, is dedicated to PA firearm owners and should have the correct info.

I see no specific information on renewals.

As a reference, took ~10 days or so.
