Reminder New hours for Turkey hunting

Just reminding everyone the all day hours for spring gobbler season does not start until after the 3rd Saturday of the season. Until then hunting ends at noon out of the woods by 1. Good Luck!

I had to tell my Dad about the all day hunting in the last part of the spring Turkey season. He had not hunted in the spring for many years. He still thought you had to stop hunting by noon the whole season.

It certainly isnt like the past. Seasons starting same weekends running same lengths. I know many older hunters just hanging it up because they are so unsure of seasons baglimits. Tradition runs deep for some. There are mre opprotunities for sure but no Sunday hunting yet.

It is also true that the way the rules are written this year, there is no legal ground hog hunting from the third Saturday to the end of Spring Turkey season. In the book it says there is no hunting during the legal hunting hours of spring turkey season. With the period from the third saturday to the end of may being legal for turkeys from an hour before sunrise to an hour after sunset, there is no way to hunt groundhogs.


The farms where I hunt ground hogs are really pissed about this new rule.
