I just wanted to keep this thread updated as I said I would. I realize that I am not the only Glock (or any type of gun) owner that has/had jamming issues that need to be resolved, especially for a carry gun.

I went into my gun shop today to find out what was happening with my baby. Basically, limp-wristing is def out. The smith was the 3rd person that fired this gun and had it jam almost immediately. He believes that there's something mechanically wrong within the extractor parts. Therefore, the Glock is back at Glock being worked on. I'll let you all know what Glock decides to do.

Glad to hear that Glock is getting this resolved for you.

Seems a little odd to send it back since replacing all of the extractor-related parts would take about 5 minutes and not be all that expensive. I suppose it's possible something is wrong with the channel. It will be interesting to see what Glock finds. I'm sure one way or another it will be made right.

    Thanks for keeping us updated.

On my pictures, the slide wasn't back all the way. That's why you can't see the ejector. But it is there. Regardless, a damaged/defective ejector still isn't ruled out.

I think it got sent back as opposed to being fixed at the shop because the place I took it to is actually just a gun shop I believe. They don't actually have an employed gunsmith there. Therefore, any required parts prob would not be apart of their normal inventory.

I'll keep that info in mind incase Glock sends my gun back with "was not able to duplicate the problem."

Gen 3 or Gen 4? There have been a lot of extraction issues cropping up with recent manufacture pistols. Nobody seems to have a bead on what the cause is yet. Glock advertises the Gen 4 as having tighter tolerances for more accuracy and some are noting that extractors are very tight in the slide in the newer pistols but there does not seem to be a consensus yet. The part that really blows is, it seems to be curable for a short duration (a few hundred to 1,000 rounds) then shows up again.

Good detailed discussion of the issue here:

Good luck with it. Let us know what the diagnosis is and if the problem is cured.

I checked my G26 last night. Mine looks just like your's. The OP's seems to be missing the ejector altogether. However, I don't think that's why it fails to extract the cartridge from the chamber. It has to be the extractor not engaging the rim of the cartridge or it's slipping off.

    Just offering up another idea:
I'm no expert, I'm not sure if this applies to pistol cartridges, but I've heard of timing issues that can cause this in rifles. The case doesn't have time to contract from the chamber wall prior to the extractor pulling on it. The extractor simply slips off the rim.
    Toujours pręt
