ummm shellac...
thought i read somewheres that the ruskies finished their ak stocks with it.
so off to homodepo i went.
i need a new grip for the yugo, but they seem to be a different breed than all the rest.Last edited by brian; September 26th, 2012 at 05:27 PM.

You can fix problems in Shellac with denatured alcohol. It will met it and it bonds to itself.

Most guns are not sellac but linseed oil and varnish, True oil is just that, mind you the older guns, (without any luster to them) are only Linseed oil.
The finish I used on the pens I make is a wax linseed oil and varnish in one, Once applied, it needs to be buffed on, it really looks sweet after too.
