Default posts appearing to not post ...

.... so you hit submit a second time and get "this is a duplicate post of one submitted less than 5 minutes ago" or something to that effect.

Anyone else getting this? It used to happen once in a great while but is happening with more regularity these days.

I don't know what's going on. I've been getting a lot of broken pages, and resets, and on the post right before this one I got a "thank you message" and something about that I chose to post a poll, but I was only replying to a thread.

Firefox is getting more like Internet Exploder every time they 'improve' it.

    Firefox 4 is 'teh sux'.

I know my problems are not firefox related. As these issues only occur on this forum and this forum alone. No other forum gives all the hiccups that this one does.

Last night, it took close to 2 minutes for a post to complete from the time I hit submit to the time it showed it in the thread. That seems to be a server resource issue, while some of the issues seems to be a bandwidth issue.

This is what I was referring to, it looks as if it's hung up and not going to post so I hit "submit" a second time which then pops up a message that tells me I already posted that message and then takes me to the post.

I too am only experiencing this problem here on PAFOA and I use IE9.

IE9 does it too..I actually think it may be a vBulletin glitch...because the Mopar site is actually living in its own hotel and is still dragging, just like this one.

I dumbed my firefox back, and the delay went away, so I figured that was where the problem is.

There is a bunch of crappy code to handle the new longer IP addresses that I can see is going to be a world of shit, too.

I had the problem last night as well, in posting, PM'ing, and reporting a post.

I would bet that it's either a server load problem on the DB server, or a problem with the database itself. With as much pounding as the DB gets, I wouldn't be surprised if needs some real maintenance and housekeeping at this point.

As a side note, I also noticed that my previous-mentioned UCP problem is getting worse. This also points to a DB problem, as all of these actions that are described above involve changes to the database.

Same problem using Chrome. This is not browser specific obviously.

I really don't think it's a vBulletin problem as, I'm on many other sites running the same software and haven't seen the kinds of issues that I've seen here. Either where this server is sitting doesn't have a big enough pipe to handle the traffic or the server itself is underpowered or both.

All the things I'm seeing point to a problem on the server side, not on the client side.

    Me too.
Although it's not the first time I've had this issue on this forum.
Personally I think it's related to some type of server bottleneck, slow response times and such.

When my posts get hung up I close pafoa and reopen and posts are always there.
