need to carry concealed... in Dress Blue Deltas...
So I have an upcoming wedding that I am going to be attending, and I have agreed to wear my USMC Dress Blue "D" uniform (dress pants with tucked in short sleeve khaki shirt, very form fitting)
This uniform prevents me from carrying in my normal IWB 4 O'Clock position without very severe alteration, which I do not wish to do to my Marine Corps Uniform. So, at this point, I believe that my only option is ankle carry. My weapons for this carry are my Kimber 4" 1911 and Springfield XD .45 Compact. What holster would you recommend for me?
thanks guysLast edited by masakarijoe; April 23rd, 2011 at 03:55 PM.

Honestly, I'd consider a belly band or a pocket gun. Our uniforms are too well tailored to accommodate anything else.
The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but believe me, it's on the damned list.

.
Any chance you're an NCO?
Are you kidding me? Walk in to a wedding decked out in any USMC dress uniform and this by your side?
Yeah... that's what I'm talking about.
My boy is a Staff Sergeant at MCAS Beaufort, so, Semper Fi.
.While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

Here's a link to a thread about Galco vs Fobus I commented in. I haven't found an ankle holster as comfortable as the Galco glove and I've tried a few.

Have you considered a small shoulder holster under your jacket? Thats what I did when I wore my Army Dress Blues. My NCO sword sit is a display case these days and would be better for stabbing than cutting.

I think either of those pistols would be a little bulky for ankle carry. Maybe you can get a friend to loan you a smaller one. If you get lucky maybe even the holster since doesn't look like you will be using it much.

Re: need to ankle carry... in Dress Blue Deltas...
Agreed. Both pistols mentioned are going to be way too bulky and heavy to ankle carry (especially if you are dancing, running, etc).
I'd ask a friend to borrow a small pistol/j-frame and try that.
Other option Is a bellyband as mentioned aboveThe Beauty of the 2nd Amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it.
