    Default 870 tuning

    Does anyone know of an online tutural to slick up the action of the 870? I just swapped forearm and things seem a lttle stiff.

    Lube it up and pump the hell out of it.

    Always work an 870 like you stole it. Pump it like you might break it....you wont.

    Just finished the same project myself.
    having the same problem. My solution was the same as one of the posters above... apply gun oil and work the action. (Sicko!!!)
    I found that while handling the parts I pretty much took all of the good oil off the metal, and left the oil from my hands, which doesnt do the same job.

    I'm confused (I am allot). If I understand this you replaced the factory forearm on you 870 and now it doesn't "rack" as smoothly as the original?
    I personally would determine where/why it's rubbing and correct the issue. Can you please elaborate as to where it's binding?

    It was tight at the bottom of the stroke. I hit the shiny spots of the action bars with a fine diamond hone to smooth them up a bit, re-oiled, and it is working fine now.
