New 22lr: GSG 1911
Just picked one of these up today as an alternative for plinking( obviously much cheaper to shoot than a 9 or 45), and I have to say I am very impressed by it. Shot 300 rounds of CCI mini mag through it, and not one FTf or fte. I was also surprised by the accuracy, considering what it is. How have others' experiences been with this pistol? And just to clarify, does anyone know what exactly is compatible with other 1911 parts.
Thanks,

What? No pictures? You can't post a thread about your new gun and not add pictures....

Sorry, forgot my photo disclaimer, took the pictures to put in here, just can't find the darn cord. I'll find it tomorrow and slap them up there.

Re: New 22lr: GSG 1911
I love mine too! I know the thumb safety and MSH are interchangeable at least (there is a post on 1911 forums where someone from ATI lists all interchangeable parts, but I cant find it right now). An added bonus to swapping out the MSH is that the mag safety will be disabled.

Re: New 22lr: GSG 1911
I checked one out a month or so ago at a local shop. I really liked it, but was worried it was too big for my GF to grip well, so I took her a few days later to check it out herself.
Unfortunately for my bank account, she really liked it, and it fit her hands perfectly, so there is definitely one in my future. I was excited about the pre-threaded barrel, but not so much about it needing to buy an adapter to make those threads usable. Lucky for me my suppressor's manufacturer sells an adapter specifically for this gun.
And seriously... get some pics...

Re: New 22lr: GSG 1911
I had to read the manual before disassembling one. It's only the first step that's different with a screw in the side of the frame. These guns are fun and a great alternative to some other .22LR pistols plagued with issues.
Those who dare.

Yup definately going to pick up one of these in the tactical version as a supressor host. Hmmm or perhaps the colt version...but that damn umarex scares me after the problem plagued m4 they made for colt in 22lr.
