    Default Ruger Blackhawks

i found 2 ruger blackhawks in original boxes

    both .357

    both 6 1/2" barrels

    one stainless and one blued.

both pre owned but looks like they were never fired.

does $475 for blued and $525 for stainless seem fair? its what they're asking.

The Ruger website lists $699 for the SS version and $575 for the blue. New guns. Figure that you can find them for 10% less than that.
The two guns that you saw, as described, are better buys than that.

    It depends on their vintage.

If they are recent manufacture, 2005 or newer, they are on the hairy edge.

If they are "Old Model" Blackhawks then they are a steal for those prices in that condition.

If they have (3) screws in the frame rather than pins they are "Old Models".

How about a 9" barrel version. A guy i work with is selling one for $700. I'd that a good deal?

The 6.5" barrels are more useful and less clumbersome in the filed that is a good price on them I'd get them if i was you. This western shooting and economy has driven single action revolvers up in price. Ruger SAs are some of the toughest, most reliable and most durable of its kind.

Years ago I paid $225 for a 6.5" -7" blue steel 44 mag Super Black hawk it really tamed the powerful 240 grain 44 mag rounds compared to shooting them in a 6" S&W 29 something about the grip angle. I hate I traded it.

If they are not the 3 screw models it's kind of high for around here.Usually see the blued ones not much more then $300 to $350.Probably find new for not much more.
