Default Changes to the GSSF pistol purchase program

No more instant discount purchases for folks who are new Glock Sport Shooting Foundation members. You have to have been a member for at least 12 consecutive months before you are eligible:

No impact to me from the change, and since I'm an armorer I can buy two per year at LE prices anyway. But it does suck if you had plans to buy under the program. There is some "grandfathering" going on for recent applications, so folks should contact GSSF for definitive answers.

It says it takes effect may 1st. Any chance of getting in before that? Im looking to get a 26gen4 and that discount would be great.

From a thread over in Glock Talk:

"Glock, Inc., of Smyrna, GA, has just granted GSSF permission to grandfather membership applications. New member applications postmarked on or before Saturday, April 30, 2011, or faxed applications faxed on or before Saturday, April 30, 2011 will be grandfathered under the old program rules. New members will receive their pistol purchase coupon shortly after joining."

But you might want to double-check with the folks at the GSSF office just to be sure.

I joined GSSF in December last year so hopefully will be grandfathered in.

If you sign up for a two year membership, you can purchase your Glock using the GSSF discount right away.

Well worth the price regardless if you are purchasing a new Glock or not.

I bought several Glocks and always felt like I should have taken advantage of the GSSF discount, but never did.

Probably won't now with the wait b/c will you really save anything with having to have a membership for 12 consecutive months? Wouldn't that be two membership payments and therefore pretty much negate any real savings you would end up with?

Just wondering about it. Probably does nothing to the Glock sales. They don't need to offer a discount to sell guns. They actually could probably get away with a slight price increase and still profit in the market.
