leaving gun in car question
I have to be at this meeting tomorrow.
I have LTCC, but I can't take the weapon to the building.
So naturally, I'll have to leave the weapon in the car during the meeting with my GF who do not have LTCC.
Is that legal, as long as I put my gun in case in trunk and mag in like grovebox?Audemus jura nostra defendere

Re: leaving gun in car question
Is your better half a prohibited person? If yes, you cannot leave it alone in the car with her. If no, lock it up unloaded in the trunk. I would suggest a lockable case with the ammo in a separate container. I would put the case in the car and transfer the pistol to the case while still in the car then move the locked case and ammo to the trunk.

Hey Mity, just take her and get her a permit to carry. Even if she doesn't want to actually carry. Should solve you problems. I have run into the same thing. I'm getting the betterhalf a permit.
Wait a minute. She can't be in possesion of "my" firearms can she??? I'm not sure about this one.
S*it, what is the rule on Loaing a firearm???? I know if she is your wife, your OK, but girlfriend, I'm not sure.
Little help guys. I know someone out there knows.Last edited by Mtbkski; December 21st, 2007 at 08:50 AM. Reason: I swore

Without a LTCF, if she operates the car with the firearm in the car with the firearm locked or unlocked and unloaded, she is only legal if going directly to or from a shooting range.

Re: leaving gun in car question
I think if she's in the car alone with the keys, she is technically the operator. But I could be wrong.

Re: leaving gun in car question
I thought I read somewhere about being the spouse of a LTCF and having the firearm in the vehicle is okay. Time to go search....
