Re: under 21 open carry of a long gun (on foot)
I know personally, if I saw a dude with an ak in public i would watch him very closely. With all the assholes going to public places and blowing people away The first thing I would think is "is this a threat?" "is this a guy i might have to take out?" While it may be legal, it looks shady as hell, and really does the oposite of what we're trying to achieve.

Re: under 21 open carry of a long gun (on foot)
Just because you can do something, it doesn't mean that it's in your best interest to do it. I'll admit when I was younger I probably would have thought it was cool to walk around carrying the ol' AK. Then I turned into my dad. This is not a post to bash OC (handgun) guys whatsoever, just for the record. I would almost guarantee, if you walk in an urban area with a so called "assault rifle", police will be on you like white on rice. Being shot by an over zealous officer for making a "wrong move" isn't worth proving a point.

Re: under 21 open carry of a long gun (on foot)
"Lawful activity" unfortunately is subjective and opinion.
Same ambiguity applies for carry in a school
