Default I wrote the NRA about Philly not recognizing non-res. CCLs. Got a response.

Here is the response I just got this morning:

Philadelphia is violating PA firearm preemption law. There are currently court cases pending on philly violating preemption, so we are waiting on those.

We are trying to further strengthen preemption in the legislature too.

So they are pursuing it in court. Good news.

What cases? I don't think they would know about Viper's case just yet.

Actually there are court cases against some council members for them violating preemption.

The NRA is the one behind the cases. Do You know another group in Philly with money and power to take it to court?

    Research.

I agree that there are some, but are there any directly related to the new law they passed? I believe that's what the OP was asking about.

Read it again Grasshopper! That AIN'T what she said! She said "there are cases in court and they are WAITING..." I think you took that to mean the NRA is fighting in those cases. They are NOT. They are waiting to see how those cases play out.

Again, for all who drank the kool-aid: NRA stands for "Negotiating Rights Away". They used to be on our side, but haven't been for over ten years. That Hohenwarter asshole sold us out in Harrisburg last year, and will do it again this year given any opportunity.

None that I know of. When Philly passed a bunch of ordinances awhile back, a few were shot down, and a few, like Lost & Stolen, stayed on the books, merely because the NRA didn't have standing to challenge them. Someone has to be affected by the law in order to challenge it.

It's very likely the same thing is happening with the non-resident permit issue. Until someone with a non-resident permit from a state that PA has reciprocity with gets arrested for violating the city ordinance, then no one as standing to challenge the law. So, someone will have to wind up playing guinea pig before the NRA or any other pro-RKBA group can do anything.

I like, for the most part, the NRA-ILA, but that statement that they are the only real game in town is complete nonsense. Ever heard of SAF? You should cause they're the only real reason the 2A actually applies to States now.

NRA-ILA gets a passing grade in my book, NRA's state lobbying efforts over the last 5 years get a solid "F" here in PA.
