    Very, very true. I've held a few different WASR's. Some of them look like they're put together by drunk children. Mine on the other hand, is surprisingly awesome.

    The only thing you get with a nice WASR compared to other AK's is a low price. If you're willing to spend more, do so. I wasn't I'm plenty happy though.

    Please don't listen to this post. Although their are some FACTS in it, too much ill opinions to worry about.

    Please read the sticky and let us know what your looking for.

    I have shot many AK's and they all seem pretty much the same accuracy and reliability wise.

    I have a converted Saiga with optics on a quick release side mount as my "modern" AK and a WASR 10/63 in classic configuration. The are both great guns and would not hesitate to get another of each.

    If i was only going to have one I would get a WASR (buy in person to check for common issues if you like) through Classic Arms again. A little time spent redoing the wood and it's a great rifle. Spend the rest on magazines and ammo.

    I had the same problem when I was looking for a new AK.

    I basically found 2 types;

    1. Cheap shitty Century arm builds that have the wrong size barrel and canted sights.
    2. Expensive 'top of the line' Arsenals.

    The Centuries had too many people complaining about them so I stayed well alone and the Arsenal were too expensive plus, they just ship in the guns that can be bought for about $300, then they change a few things and triple the price!

    Inbetween these 2 types I found AKs made by Interarms sold by Atlantic Firearms. I bought an AK-74 Bulgarian kit with wood trim for about $600. It was well worth the money!

    Check them out;
