Colt 1911 .22
Has anyone fired the new Colt 1911 in .22lr? It's made by Carl Walther and looks really nice! I held one today at my gundealer and it felt really nice ! Think it would make a nice plinker and looks mean - especially in the model he had - all black, no rall.

Re: Colt 1911 .22
This looks very similar to the GSG 1911 which is getting great reviews. If I read the website right, the Colt is made by Walther. I heard Walther was the parent company behind GSG. Which would explain why they look so similar.

Re: Colt 1911 .22
I like the Browning 1911 in .22 LR a little better:
http://www.browning.com/products/cat...irearms#center
The Browning is scaled down to 90% of the dimensions of a standard 1911. Some may not like this, but the thought of a "compact" 1911-style .22 LR appeals to me.

Re: Colt 1911 .22
I saw a video of the Browning from shot show. The designer said they wanted to make the 1911 more usable for women and children. I think I'd prefer the full size.

Man I like that and I've been itching for a .22 pistol. Thanks for the link!

Re: Colt 1911 .22
Has anyone seen the Colt 1911 22cal guns imported by Umerex. The rail gun model has white dots on the sights but I do not know if the Gold Cup model with adj sights are just black or if they have white dots.Like to have white dots to pick up the sights easier.

Re: Colt 1911 .22
Just picked up the gold cup model today. Side by side comparison was almost identical to the sig model.
Jim: The sights on the gold cup model are adjustable black sights. No white dots. The ones on the sig are white dot.

Re: Colt 1911 .22
FYI, there are (3) levels of the Colt 1911 .22LR.
The 1st version is a basic Government model.
The 2nd version is a tactical model with a few upgrades like a rail on the bottom.
The 3rd version is a Gold Cup model. This one is my favourite.
One thing of differance between the Colt 1911 .22's amd say the GSG and Sig models: The Colts DO NOT have a full-length guide rod. I actually prefer this, as I "bump check" or "bump cock" my 1911's. (Very carefully of course).
Of all of the 1911 .22's out there, the Colt ones are my favourites. The only reason I don't have one is because I have a Ruger Mark III Target and Browning Buckmark, and I just don't feel like I need another (less accurate) .22 pistol.
