interesting question....
I have a Jimenez Arms JA-22 .22lr. Its works flawlessly (I know I can't believe it either) but it is pretty beat up. Now the town across from mine is doing one of the gun buy back programs (article here: http://www.timesonline.com/news/busi...a4bcf6878.html ) and they are giving out $50 dollar gift cards to Giant Eagle in that town. Now I know the rep Jimenez has but it is still a working firearm and I wanted to get opinions on if you would turn it in for the $50 dollar gift card. I am laid off so it would help alittle bit but I am asking that you put yourself in my shoes and what would you do? I also have another gun so I wouldn't be without one.
Alittle advice and opinions are needed....

Re: interesting question....
I would pay $50 to get rid of it.
Just kidding
What's it worth to you? Doesn't really matter what other people say about it. If it works flawlessly, then it would be a decent plinker.

Re: interesting question....
if you need the money more than the gun, why not try to sell it? maybe make a few extra bucks.

Re: interesting question....
Sell the gun. Don't let them melt down another perfectly good firearm.

Re: interesting question....
While I hate those gun "buy pack" programs, they can be a good means to get rid of a gun that will net you less in trade or sale outright.
Since the gun in question isn't a rare or valuable piece - the $50 gift card might be a good idea. If it had been a rare or other piece, selling as parts is the courteous thing to do for fellow gun owners. ..Sometimes a simple pin, screw, or spring is worth it's weight in gold to fix up a rare gun.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515

Re: interesting question....
/\ /\ /\ I agree.
If it's in good working order you should be able to get $50.00 or more for it and make someone else happy instead of destroying a perfectly good firearm that happens to have a bad reputation.
That one might even be considered a collector's item considering the fact that it runs so well in spite of the reputation, ask a premium price for it due to the rarity.

Re: interesting question....
I agree with you there...that is why I have asked the question if I should or shouldn't on principle alone?
Yea I am still not sure other than principle and it still works that is my argument to keep it but its not worth the 50 bucks they are giving...
I highly doubt I can get 50 bucks for it outright, its not in the best of shape but still fires, if I had to guess its about about 75% condition, if that, and I don't want to see it destroyed but I also have a family to feed....
and yes maybe a collector's item since it does work........

If you lived around philly I would give you 50.00. Post it up in the classified section for 50.00 or 75.00 I am sure it would go quickly.
