Officer 2 strikes me as someone who, while wrong on some points, could be made to listen to reason during a chat over beer and wings.

Officer 1, well, nothing's going to fix what's wrong with him. Except maybe a lawsuit, but I doubt even that. But by all means go for it if your attorney thinks you have a case.

I think the cursing was to make a point. The only other way to make a similar point of frustration for the attitude and the physical assault that occurred would be
1) to call him a JBT, thug, bully with a badge, jackass, dickhead, etc.
2) be more assertive and get more in his face telling him here is my license, you won't look at it
