hey guys , just wanted to point out that all 45 colt ammo manufactured after WW2 has the same diameter as 45 auto, .451 For jacketed bullets and .452 for lead bullets. Prior to WW2 most Colt revolvers had a bore diameter of .454.

The proper diameter for modern .45 Colt is .452" for jacketed and .452"-.454" for lead. .45acp bullets will work in a .45Colt, but you will have blow-by on the bullet which can cause flame cutting of the copper jacketing, which will cause additional copper fouling.

The bore on a .45acp is .450", but the groove diameter is .451".

The bore on a .45Colt has always been .450", the groove is .452" on modern guns. On older guns it could vary from .452" to .454", with .454" as the "standard" model.
