Default For those of you with S&W M&P Pistols (installing Apex part)...

who might be considering do-it-yourself upgrades to APEX Tactical trigger parts or better sights -- if I can do it, you can too.

I just finished installing the APEX DCAEK and Tru-Glo sights, front and rear. In all, I spent about 4 hours, but if I had to do it again, I could probably easily get it down to 1.5 hours. It's just not that hard.

If you don't have them, I would recommend buying the following first:

    - punches and tweezers
    - hammer
    - nylon sight punch ($5 at brownells)
    - screwdriver set for guns that includes tiny hex bits.

It was a lot of fun and the action on the gun is much improved. I'm sharing this with the forum because I was worried that it would be too complicated for someone who had never worked on a pistol (like me), but it turned out to be pretty simple with a few internet tutorials from APEX on youtube.

So how do you like the trigger? Would you describe it as lighter, smoother, or is it mostly the overtravel being taken out?

It's a better feel in pretty much every way. It's smoother generally, and the most notable improvement is in the overtravel reduction. It is definitely lighter, but it wasn't THAT heavy to begin with (I'd estimate a drop from mid to upper 6's to lower 5's). There's a slightly improved reset feel, though I couldn't put in the RAM because I have a thumb safety mode. For $90 and a little bit of your time, it's a pretty noticeable improvement. My M&P went from a gun I liked a lot, to a gun I love.
