    Default I Need A Belt

The title sums it up. I'm going to need a belt soon. Does anyone know about any that I can use as a regular belt when I'm not carrying a gun? I've got a shit ton of holsters already, and I'm probably going to be using one that goes inside the waistband, or one that goes on the belt on the small of my back. I don't want one of those big, wide cop-looking belts.

    Beltman belts http://www.thebeltman.net/

ETA: he makes a variety of belts, including some slender 1.25" ones that make snazzy dress belts.

    +1 for Beltman belts.

If your looking for a nylon belt try these. I've had 2 for a couple years now and they work great. The 5 stitch works for most people. If you're a fat ass like me the re-enforced works well but it is stiff.

5.11 makes a shit load of leather belts with some kind of plastic filler. They look great, come in plain, or a variety of stitching patterns, and wouldn't be mistaken for anything other than a dress belt. They seem to last about a year with daily use, then start to get real shitty. For 30$ it's a cheap and solid belt. I've carried full size guns with 2 extra mags and there was never an issue, it's a solid belt.

You could go the beltman or "custom" belt way, but it's going to cost you about 3-4x more, however, the belt will last years and years. There is often a brief waiting period as well. If you're looking for something reliable and won't put a dent in your pocket, the 5.11 belts are a cost effective fix. Again, the downside, is you will end up buying a new one after about a year of continuous use, however in the meantime while using the 5.11 you can set money aside and order your custom belt and not have to worry about waiting for it.

Okay, maybe I should have been more specific. I need one that won't make me look like a lesbian construction worker. Does anyone make belts for women?

And before anyone mentions them, no, I won't carry in a purse or fanny pack or anything like that.

    Good luck.

Apparently not. You'll probably have to work with a custom maker to get anything other than a man's belt in a woman's size.

I got a nice amish belt a couple months ago from the folks at Hanks Clothing~there's a huge belt thread here somewhere and that's where I found out about them. Nice thick belt that made a big difference.

Sometime I'd like to try Beltman but couldn't swing the $ this time around...

You might take a look at this thread. Sounds like the Beltman might work up something you'd like.
