Default M&P pistol in which caliber?

The M&P is available in four calibers, 9mm, .357 Sig, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP.
Which would you choose for yourself? I am buying my M&P tomorrow, I am getting the .40 S&W version.

And now for the eye candy!

9mm, no advantage in any other caliber for me.

I say get the .40, you can then run 9mm and .357 sig with some swapping of parts.

    I recently purchased the M&P 45 compact.

I shoot alot of 45 ACP so that's what I went with. Nice little shooter.

9mm is a perfectly viable defensive caliber, and practice ammunition is cheaper so you can afford to shoot more.

That said if you already stock ammo in a particular caliber like AG, then it may make sense to go that route.

I am getting the 9mm version with the thumb safety kinda gives me a little more piece of mind for plus one carry.

That's a good way to have multiple calibers in the same gun.

9mm if you don't reload. .40 if you do and want to do any action competitions.
