Asking a favor. I'd like to try a Ruger SP 101.
Folks. I would like to ask a favor from someone in the northeastern PA area that currently owns a Ruger SP101. I've been thinking about getting one for some time now and I would like to shoot one to see how comfortable they are to shoot and if they are too snappy for my sometimes arthritic hands.
I currently own a Taurus Model 65 that I really like but, I find it a little heavy to carry when hiking, berry picking, fishing, etc. I would like to compare the two revolvers side by side.
As such, if you find that you will be out shooting in the near future and wouldn't mind me running a few rounds through your gun, I would be much obliged. I will happily supply my own ammo.
If interested, please shoot me a PM re: where and when and we can exchange phone numbers, directions, etc. FYI, I'm only about 10-15 minutes from the Tobyhanna range if that helps at all.
Thanks.

ETA: I neglected to mention I'm looking to try the .357 magnum and not the .327 magnum. Sorry.Last edited by Sandcut; April 10th, 2011 at 07:27 PM.

I find it a little heavy to carry
I don't think you'll find any weight saving going to a SP101.

Try one for fit and comfort at a gun shop. I have one and I assure you firing it won't be a deal breaker.

I guress I left out a lot of info, didn't I.
Yes, I'm looking to purchase the 3" version. My Taurus is a 4".

Thanks for this. I pretty much assumed that it wouldn't be horrible but, didn't want to sink the cash into the deal only to find out it's too snappy.Sed ego sum homo indomitus

I do feel a zing in my trigger finger after a dozen 357s. I am not sure if this is par for the course.
