Out-of-State gun purchase
I'm on holiday in FL and I saw a rifle I would like to purchase at walmart. What would I have to do to buy it? I can't find anything on out of state purchases online at NRA-ILA.
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, — go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!” ~Samuel Adams
You cannot invade America. There is a rifle behind every blade of grass.” ~ Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto

Re: Out-of-State gun purchase
Have your local PA Wal-mart order in the same make and model for you to purchase when you get home. Per FEDERAL law long arms may be purchased out of state but only in neighboring states.

Re: Out-of-State gun purchase
That's not correct... Sounds as if your possibly confusing FTF with purchase at an FFL.(?)
(B2) From whom may an unlicensed person acquire a firearm under the GCA? [Back]
A person may only acquire a firearm within the person’s own State, except that he or she may purchase or otherwise acquire a rifle or shotgun, in person, at a licensee's premises in any State, provided the sale complies with State laws applicable in the State of sale and the State where the purchaser resides. A person may borrow or rent a firearm in any State for temporary use for lawful sporting purposes.

Re: Out-of-State gun purchase
Yes, purchase of a long arm in any state is now allowed. The previous"neighboring state" law was changed. As long as it is legal in both states a PA resident can buy a long arm in FL.
Note, this is for LONG ARMS ONLY (rifle, shotgun) Handguns must be purchased in your state of residence. If you find a handgun you want in FL set it up to be sent to your PA FFL to do the transfer.Ron USAF Ret E-8 FFL01/SOT3 NRA Benefactor Member

Brick is right.
Out of State purchases limited to States contiguous to YOUR home State.
Limited to long arms only!!

Re: Out-of-State gun purchase
Keep in mind, Florida allows the counties to elect waiting periods on long gun purchases. ...and there are quite a few that have elected the periods.
Be sure to allow yourself a few days if you happen to purchase one in a county that chose to make you wait to defend yourself.

Re: Out-of-State gun purchase
Not correct. Read my post after Brick's. Right off the ATF FAQ page.
Contiguous is for face to face. Not FFL.
As an FFL myself, I have done transfers to non residents. During the background check you have to talk to a PICS operator for non-resident (IOW: not automated). They would not run the check if it wasn't allowed.
