    Default Two great guns!

The XDm .40 4.5" or the M&P .40 full size?

    Which would you choose?

Yes, two good guns. I'd want to fire both and decide afterwords. Is there a range you could rent each? Perhaps there are owners in your area that would let you try their guns?

I would go M&P just because it's made in the USA and both guns are pretty much equal.

Thanks yes there are a few ranges in the area that have both guns for rent. I am probably going to buy the XDm.

Both good guns IMO, I am buying myself an M&P 9mm soon as my first pistol. I have fired the M&P chambered in 9mm and .40, both experiences were very enjoyable. Very easy to shoot, accurate and goes boom every time. Like Yoda I would also chose the M&P since it's actually made here while the XD is a Croatian designed/built pistol (see HS 2000) sold by an American brand.

I'm also a fan of Smith and Wesson, it's definitely a classic American brand.
