zeroing ar-15
Forgive me but I am new at this whole forum thing. I hope I am in the right place to ask a question. I would like to know if someone can tell me which target I should use to zero my weapon at 25 m. I have an LMT AR-15 with a 16" barrel. Should I be using the M16A2 target or the M4 target?

Welcome to the board.
I'd use the m4.
But really, any ol target will work. Also, if possible, i'd use a 50 yd zero. It just works better from 0 - 200 yds.

Re: zeroing ar-15
Agree, 50 yard zero works perfect. There are my "calculations" using a ballistics calculator on my phone if you can read my writing. The * number is the distance of zero and then below is how high or low you'll be from zero. These are just calculations, no cross wind, or any variables.

Re: zeroing ar-15
Again welcome to the site.
Have some questions first.
What style rear sight is on it? Fixed carry handle, removeable carry handle or some style flip up rear sight?
Also is it a standard fixed front sight or some style of a flip/folding sight?
This will all make a difference if you want to use the military style zero targets to get sighted in. Each variation of the sights can change which of the 2 targets you would need.
If you try searching for FM 3-22.9 that it the army's manual that pretty much covers everything M16/M4 related. It has everything from zeroing to advanced rifle marksmanship in it."Remember the first rule of gunfighting ... have a gun." Jeff Cooper

No carry handle. It has a flat monolithic rail with detachable LMT iron sights both front and rear. Although the front is detachable it looks very much like your standard fixed sight.
