Who wouldn't start with a box or two through their favorite 1911's then followed by a toast to JMB?

Re: Happy 100th Birthday 1911! (March 29th)
My Birthday is March 29 and I am buying a 1911 on the 29th. Then I will toast Mr Browning for designing a great gun.
I always stressed to my son"one shot one kill that was all that is needed". When He came home from Marine Corp Boot camp He was telling me about the Marines stressing "ONE SHOT ONE KILL" He looks at me and the light bulb went on Dad was now a whole lot smarter than he was 13 weeks ago.

psst, the pistol was designed well before 1911...it was accepted by the military in 1911.
the famous 6000 round test was in 1910.
anything other than a colt, is just a copy.Last edited by brian; September 26th, 2012 at 05:22 PM.

Re: Happy 100th Birthday 1911! (March 29th)
Yeah, I am aware it was designed before that, but the official date is March 29th.
And if you really believe "anything other than a colt, is just a copy" you are deluding yourself. Kimber singlehandedly brought the 1911 market back to life in the mid 90's with their quality. Colt's quality was none too great. If it was, Kimber would have never taken off.Last edited by ShooterInPA1; March 27th, 2011 at 09:38 AM.
