    Question S&W reblue

I have an old (early 1950's) Model 14. I contacted S&W about a reblue but they did not want to accept the revolver due to it's age. The gun is an accurate and smooth shooter. It's just faded with the usual bluing wear. Any recommendations for this work? Thanks

    Thumbs up Re: S&W reblue

Thanks for the reminder. It's been a few years since I was last there, but
I used to frequent them all the time back in the day. They did it all.

Wow. I would never have thought SW would deny reblueing because of age. I thought about sending my top break fourth model .32 to them to have a factory reblue. (circa 1894)

If I ever go to do it i guess i will have to look elsewhere, sad really!

My request was made to the custom shop via e-mail. S&W offers different levels ($) of gunsmithing services. It had to do with a parts issue. They did not want to be responsible if something got broken. What, I don't know. Perhaps originality of parts. My thought was, if something broke, what better place to be. I'd happily pay for the needed repair.
