I was lucky enough to get out of work 1hr early on Friday so I picked the Mrs up and headed down to Tanners to put some more $ down on a shotgun I had on layaway. We walked in the door literally 5 minutes before closing. I immediately told the first guy I saw that I wanted to put more down and my wife surprised me with a "just get it" comment. The salesman said it couldn't happen (due to PICS) since they then closed in 3 mins ... I was upset since its a 1.5 hr drive (each way) but understood. Another worker said write quick and tossed me the paperwork as he put 3 others on the tasks of calling in the PICS, pulling the gun, and making sure I had the paperwork correct. Total time in shop -- 5 minutes ... and I walked out happier than I could have imagined. Even managed to beat a few others out who were there before us.

I really can't thank their staff enough and while this is only the second firearm I've purchased from them, it surely won't be the last after service like that

I know who that would be. I picked up a rifle a couple months ago and he had a lunch date. He said write fast, called pics , and I was out of there in 10 minutes. I was there yesterday with my buddy picking up his new M&P15 and they always ask if you need help, or want to see anything, just ask. Definitely go on and "friend" their FB page. Ray post their ammo shipments on Thursdays, and any special deals they have, like the M&P15 for 556.00, or the Sig 1911-22 for 299.00

I put in and got a confirmation number on one of their M&Ps. Couldn't be any easier. Only wish telling the wife was this easy... Can't wait to get up there and put my deposit down.

Tanners is at it again. Anniversary specials include a Sig Sauer C3 1911 for 699, or an Ultra 45 for the same price. I am seriously thinking of replacing my M&P 40C with this C3. I have no experience with 1911s, so does anyone have any thoughts as to what I should do?

Tanners. I was there once and bought one gun. That was one time too many.

I say that because I was treated like a god. I called the day before I went down to make sure they still had what I wanted to buy. Hooked up with Kevin on the phone and he made out the sales slip while I was talking to him.

Drove down the next morning and picked up the piece. No muss-no fuss.

So why do i say it was one too many times. Because it is a trip for me...sure wish they were closer.

Gotta get down there again and spend more money. Dang. Great shop and great people.

I knew that someone would say that!
I just might. I was thinking of trading my M&P to soften the blow, but I really like it. Hard decisions!

Do what you think is best......If you want advise, buy a 1911 and get to know it well. You will soon see what you have been missing. Sig C3 or Ultra, you cant lose.
