Poor design, has nothing to do with soft leather !
All leather softens in time and gun manufacturers know this happens.
I would sue the company that made that holster ! Then again I never seen a holster get that soft, they are usually made stiff on purpose. That particular holster looks like it was treated with saddle soap or some other leather softener. If it wasn't then it's just poor design and I would be calling my lawyer !

That holster was obviously soaped up. and looking at the pictures, it seems it was not a unknown situation by the owner, and could have been avoided, as it is clear that kinking in it was going on long before this happened. take a look at the 6th pic from the left, it was obviously worn that way for a while, leather does not form and mold like that in one use.

Looking at that I blame the owner. He admits he knew that crease was there. Never carry a gun in a holster that doesn't completely and securely cover the entire trigger. That holster doesn't look like it ever did, let alone after the crease formed. I don't believe in accidental discharges, only negligent ones.

Yeah, but when you holster and notice that your holster is so beat that it doesn't do its job, don't you, as the owner and responsible gun carrier, question that?

I do that when my tires lose tread or my wiper blades don't work or if I have a cracked windshield. Don't you do the same for your gun equipment?

The problem stemmed from the leather on the inner side of the holster getting soft. A crease formed, which eventually was large enough to extend beyond the trigger. Manipulate the gun in just the wrong manner and this crease is no different than a finger on the trigger. Boom!

I can’t say I didn’t know the crease had been formed in the holster. I trained myself to be sure that when holstering, to make sure the gun was fully in the holster, with the trigger protected. On this day, did I forget to do that when I holstered up?

Blame is truly a game of ditching self-responsibility. This guy admits that he KNEW the holster was creased and there was an issue with the leather riding against the trigger. So, I see that as poor equipment awareness.

This is so true. We should all take note of this "incident" and LEARN. We may be next if we don't pay attention to ALL aspects of our daily carrying.

It was noble of that guy to post for others to learn.

Good to see some of my fellow gun owners are like Ambulance chasing lawyers and want to sue. My question is, can you sue yourself for knowing altering a piece of equipment, using it knowing you failed to follow the recommended care, cleaning, and maintainence for said equipment, and then, because of said improper care, usage, and handling, an incident occurs, and you want to sue someone because of your own gross negligence. Hmm, well, I suppose it could work but more than that, I have gained great insight into the personalitys of a few members here whose core values are certainly very very very far from mine. You screw up, you own it. I see others here are fully functioning children and want to sue for their own mistakes. Woohooo, lets keep the wheel turning on the game of blaming everyone else but yourself!!!
