Default Need help identifying an old revolver please

Hi. A friend at work asked for help in identifying a revolver he may buy. He provided only two rather blurry photos of the gun. As best I can tell it has a fluted cylinder, octagon barrel, and a loading gate that folds rearward. He says it is probably around .45 caliber. It does not appear to be break open design. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

DISCLAIMER: I do not have the answer to your question.

That said - Guys, is that a Webley? I'm not sure I've ever really seen a Webley close up before, now that I think about it...

Someone will likely have your answer soon enough.

    Regards,

    Bones

A picture that has the entire gun in the frame would help some.

BTW, from what all I can see in the picture - it is screaming out that it is Belgian made/designed.

The loading gate and cylinder pin appear similar to the Russian Nagant revolver type but not that large a caliber. Could be a Nagant from another country. Will need the barrel and frame info to get it right.

Thanks for the replies so far. Im trying to get better pics from my friend. I don't think it is a Nagant-i believe they all have flat springs on the right side of the frame that put pressure on the loading gate. Nagants loading gates also flip to the side. Im not too familiar with Webleys but are all Webleys top break? I know the pics aren't good but im hoping someone might recognize what this is from the pics I attached. If I get more I will post them.

    Thanks

Looks kinda like some version/form of French service revolver or a knock-off of the same... Look forward to more pictures, and especially any proof/makers marks

id love to know why so many people post blurry pictures. usually after they post the crappy photo they say im sorry but i have a crappy phone. just learn how to use the camera.

this isnt 1967 when you had to wait days to see your prints. ythats the wonder of digital photography. you can see how crappy your pics are immediately.

tell your friend to learn how to use a camera.
