I see they've initiated this new policy.

Re: Hunting license/range permit required for PGC ranges
I fully support it.
Guns are dangerous, but no guns is more dangerous.

Re: Hunting license/range permit required for PGC ranges
Those who use the Game Commissions ranges and state gamelands should be required to have a hunting liscense. The Game Commission is funded solely threw sales of hunting liscenses, timber and mineral sales, leases and the Pittman & Robertson fund. I support this policy also.

Re: Hunting license/range permit required for PGC ranges
I was at WalMart yesterday and some people were asking the clerk where to get a range permit. The sporting goods person said he had no idea. I decided to check the PGC website and I could not find any reference to a range permit. I find it odd that the PGC would exclude people w/o license or permit, and not have a description where a non-hunter could get a permit. I am all for the idea and hope that the Scotia range will be open longer with the additional revenue.

I was at the Pine Creek range today and no signs were posted. (I know not Centre County but close enough.)

Re: Hunting license/range permit required for PGC ranges
So has anyone figured out where on the site you can find the range permit? I have no interest in getting a hunting license, I just want to be able to shoot at the ranges.

Re: Hunting license/range permit required for PGC ranges
From what I have been reading the permit is required the first year from April 1 2011 until June 30 , 2012. Your are supposed to be able to purchase them at the outdoor shop on their sight. I do not see them listed anywhere yet. I would suggest calling the regional office nearest you. For you it will be the North central region office in Antes Fort. Just outside of Jersey Shore.
