    Question SAIGA Gunsmith help..

Ok, I know I could probably do it myself, seeing as I've done everything else so far but, does anyone know what gunsmiths in the centre are would do it? I've called J&E,Ulmer's< and a couple more in the area and they all said they couldn't.
I just want it done right and I wanna be done with my beast!

PS: I'm probably going to have my mag catch lever replaced also, so if you can shed light on that, thanks!

I've done that before....I said a few not nice words as the spring slammed into my thumbnail... there was a replacement latch with "wings" on it that was easier to instal because the pin holding the latch was really a bolt.

Don't know if XringShooter would be setup to press off that fsb.

I've never "pressed" one off yet. Knock the pins out, and walk it side to side with a rubber mallet. Then drive it off the barrel.

Takes like 5-10 minutes if you presoak it with PB blaster or equiv penetrating lubricant.

It's an effin' AK for crissake...

I can tell you that there is no way the gas block on my Saiga-12 would of come off with a rubber mallet, it took a 5lb hand sledge. That was with a hefty soaking of PB Blaster for about 2 hours.

Surprised that a "traditional" gunsmith won't work on a 60 year old pattern? Ya it its until you tell them that its "an AK".

Yeah that's about it.. Mr. Ulmer said he works mostly on hunting rifles, which I can understand. The other place (i think it was called Noll?) immediately said no almost before I got "AK" out of my mouth

I started my search on google again...and found my own thread. LOL. I found a gunsmith I did not call last time though. Does anyone have any experience with Ballistic Engineering LLC out of Millheim?
