Default Grice's in Clearfield: Stevens 200 for $240.00

Grice's is having a sale starting 25 March.

I don't work there, nor do I get a commission.

I looked at their latest flier and on page 17 they have Stevens 200s for $239.99.

I am thinking about getting a magnum and converting it to a .458 mag.

    Calibers available:
    22-250
    243
    7mm08
    308
    25-06
    270
    30-06
    7mm Rem Mag
    300 Win Mag

Here's the link to the sale flyer (Stevens are on page 17):

From what I can tell, and the research I've done, seems like a good deal to me.

You know more than I do, so please feel free to comment on whether or not this is as good a price as I think it is.

    All the best,

399 for a new SP101! $469 for a GP100! I wonder how many of these they keep in stock.. If they have the inventory for these prices, it will be a good day. But, lines will probably be a bit long..

Be sure to hit Denny's Beer Barrel Pub in town and try a one or two pound cheese burger.

Under no cirumstance would I chance converting a Stevens to a .458 mag.

Crossbolts are really a must for that caliber, and properly located. I own a CZ 550 in .458/.458 lott and drop of comb is important for recoil direction and reduction.
And if you want to race, name the place and I'll show you where it's at mother f@#$&#!

A buddy of mine attempted the Big one I think 15lbs it was gluttony at it's finest. They make a real good burger but it's a task to eat, but worth going.

Bigshovel: I appreciate your insights. (Perhaps we should start a new thread?)

I already presume I would purchase a different stock (with a crossbolt), and an aftermarket (stronger) recoil lug...

I have been lurking a lot and asking some questions over at the savage shooters forum.

Any suggestions you have are certainly welcome. You have shot the beast and I have not.

My plan is to proceed very slowly and carefully so as to (hopefully) not make any mistakes.
Again, thanks for your input...It is always good to hear from others with more experience than I.

    Cheers,

According to the ad for Denny's included in the Grice flyer, they want 24 hr notice for burgers 2 lb or over. If you're really hungry, they want 72 hour notice for the 50 and 100 lb.

    Don't want anyone to starve

Yea I forgot to mention that we called a couple days ahead and let them know we were coming. I think it was 50 for the Burger split by two isn't to ridiculous. The 2 lbs are a lot less. They can make a real good burger though.

This thread has turned into an ad for Denny's ha
