    Default Crimson trace yardage?

I recently got a really good deal on a crimson trace laser grip for my Glock 26. As you know it comes set at 50 yards, way to far IMO. For those who have one what yardage did you set yours at and why?

~7 yards. Farther than that, and the chances of executing a "clean shoot" (legally speaking) start to drop. Closer than that, the difference will be negligible.

7 yrds, is what mine is set at too, I have lasergrips for a defensive situation, which in my eyes is going to be between 5 and 10 yards. So 7 is it, 50 is ridiculous, didn't know that is what they came from the factory set at.

Mine is set at about 7 or so yards as well, but realistically most encounters of self defense would be much closer. Even though it's set at 7 yards, I can hipfire my compact and hit 8" metal knockdown targets at 16 yards.
I would rather die in a shootout than get assassinated in a "gun free zone"

I JUST got my first laser-gripped equipped firearm ever, and I was thinking 7 yards too, only because that's the standard CQB starting range with carbine or pistol. If you have a clear shot of more than 21' in YOUR house, congratulations! You have done WELL in life!

7 yards for me as well. Glock 26 with Crimson Trace.

Setting it for 7 will make it very high if you ever have to use it deeper. Since not everyone is using them for SD it makes sense to have a sight that shoot an inch low at close range rather than one that shoots very high further out.

When I had mine, I set it for parallel to the bore. So it was always off by a bit, but it stayed that way for all ranges (within reason).
