Default What to replace my PPK with

I think I am ready to part with my PPK. I am having the same jamming problems that many others are having. There is a long thread here. Anyway, been looking at the Ruger P95. What do you think? Looks bigger than PPK. I have a revolver and a 1911 so want to stay away from those. Like to stay in the mid 300s.

Look at the Bersa Thunder 380. The form factor is very close to the PPK (lots of holsters fit both). I only have a few hundred rounds through mine, but it's been reliable with everythig except S&B ammo. Also comes in concealed carry (dehorned) and double stack version.

You may also want to check-out the Ruger LC9 (9MM), it is close to the same size as the PPK. Also, the Sig P238 (380) which is slightly smaller than the PPK.

How about the new Ruger LC9 ? Their 9mm version of the LCP ?
If you want to stay in 380 you got the Beretta 84-85 ? The 84 is the Hi-Cap
model and the one with the Nickel finish is beautiful !
Also, the Beretta will spit out just about any ammo you give it !

380 ammo is hard to find and expensive when found. I'd go with the Kel tec PT11 or one of its similar size updated 9mm. Probably not as accurate as the PPk out to 25 yards but inside 15 yard accurate enough and just as easy to carry. With better choice of ammo.

He did say $350 was his max. Bersa would be the only one that fits.
    84 if it's used.

If the mid $300's is your max right now, I'd wait and save up some more money and buy something of a little higher quality. Does that amount include what you'll get by selling the PPK?

You don't say what your next gun will be used for. That makes a big difference for suggestions.

I have a FEG version of a PP, and have had it for years. It is an alloy frame, so lighter than the Walther. Has an improved safety over the Walther, and a better DA trigger, and different grip shape.
They were Hungarian pistols made for and used by their police and some military units, and they are rugged, accurate and reliable . I have had maybe 10 FEG pistols over the years, and had no problems with any of them. They DO NOT do the famous Walther jam, either.

They occasionally come up for sale now used, but both the manufacturer and the importer (KBI) are out of business. Numrich has all the spare parts that exist here.

Mine is in .32 ACP, but they were available in .380 and 9mm Makarov., and I understand in .22LR, but I have never seen one.
I bought mind NIB several years ago for around $140.

300, you can buy a new p95, i paid 305 for mine new. i dont recomend the gun, i had nothing but jamming problems, and the slide coming back on the last shot...i just sold it i was so discusted. the beretta 84 is nice but out of your price range, its also a blow back style gun that really blows back, i dont like it. your ppk is the same but i never shot one. the bersa is an ok gun, some people love them, some people dont. the smith and wesson sigma is cheap and will shoot anything you stick in it. choice is yours
