Default Saiga 7.62x39 hand guard options?

i just purchased a Saiga 7.62x39 and as of right now the only thing i can really change on it is the front hand guard (still stuck in new york) but i was wondering what good options would be for a front hand guard set up so i can mount a micro dot (that will co-witness) and also have a rail system for a light or possibly a magpul angled foregrip. I have seen the midwest, but i also see that it does not co-witness with all micro dots, any and all suggestions (other then move out of new york because yes i am working on that) would be awesome thanks.

Carolina Shooters Supply has alot of options. Bought most of the items I needed to convert 2 Saigas from there.

Think the most "challenging" part of a x39 conversion will be installation of the bullet guide. There is a video on CSS website.

Will an Ultimak rail fit an unconverted Saiga?

Unfortunately I'm going to spend the money on a gun smith when I do the conversion, I've seen the how to vids and I knew it is easy to do but most of the machining is something I don't want to risk, knowing myself and lack of steady hands and patience from time to time.

And if I'm not mistaken other then the saiga not having a threaded barrel everything forward of the receiver is the same as a standard AK just different furniture?

The gas tube and handguard retainer are different. You either need a forearm designed specifically for a Saiga or you need to address these issues (can't tell you how, I kept my original forearm.)

this i did not know, i was just hoping that i could put on the gas tube rail, and probably go with the one the Arsenal uses for the front hand guard after looking around seemed like my best option

Look at the Chaos Titan rail. It's a 4 rail front handguard, and there is a full rail that goes from the back of the dust cover and attaches at the rear leaf sight. It's pretty tits, but ~$275.
