Re: Rest stop interaction.
It could have been worse (or far more interesting). Just imagine if the encounter had been done with a Canadian.

Re: Rest stop interaction.
I find it amazing at the attitudes i see in this section. The guy might have thought he was doing you a favor, as far as him not knowing the law, not all of us were born with the inceptual knowledge of PA law. Me myself I have been here since June of last year and I have been reading constantly and still don't feel I know 1/4 of what i should. Me, personally I would rather educate every chance i get than to alienate anybody.

Agreed. I wasn't there, but it sounded to me like the guy was trying to help you stay out of trouble. Even though he was wrong. And then he just let you know he didn't have any personal problem with it, it was your decision and he just wanted you to know.

Re: Rest stop interaction.
This sounds like one of the least dirtiest things to happen at a rest stop.

Could have shot back "well, Ive got to go in, do you want to hold it?" just to see his reaction. Saying it very, very loud would have been even better

Re: Rest stop interaction.
If nothing else, maybe the guy went home and looked up the information for himself, and saw he was wrong afterall. Educational interactions are always good.

Re: Rest stop interaction.
Agreed. Wearing a gun sort of makes each of us an ambassador to the rest of the herd, or at least an example to them of "what those gun nuts are like"
You can either walk around with a chip on your shoulder, and waspishly leap upon every person who says "clip" or asks "isn't that illegal?", and confirm their suspicions that gun folk are all self-important losers who were bullied in grade school and have overcompensated for that and for their small genitals by strapping on the biggest hogleg they could find, and looking for anyone to suffer their righteous and sublimated wrath;
Or, you can all act like adults, and explain the truth in a calm, patient manner, and spread the word of the Holy UFA to the unarmed heathens. I think that the latter would produce the best long-term benefit. Be assertive in your rights, but not aggressive against those who dare to challenge your superhuman status. "No, I understand your concerns, but under the state Uniform Firearms Act and Federal laws, this facility isn't a restricted place, like a courthouse or Post Office would be. But thanks for the heads-up, I know you were watching my back, bro."Attorney Phil Kline, AKA gunlawyer001@gmail.com
