    Default Bushnell riflescopes

I am looking for a new scope for my 30-06 and I'm deciding which scope is better. The bushnell banner or the the bushnell trophy. Both are 4-12 by 20. I have heard ppl talking about these scopes for airguns but what about a large caliber like an 06?

Banner & Trophy are both lower-line Bushnell scopes. I'd advise that you look to the Elite 3200 or 4200 lines, as they are being closed out now and there are some great deals on them. They are also great glass - I have one of each.

Just FYI - an air rifle subjects a scope to more abuse than most cartridge guns. Because of the spring, there is a double recoil impulse with an air rifle that just plays havoc with scopes - so if you see one rated for air rifles, that is usually a good thing.

    JMHO / YMMV

I agree with Pizza Bob, look at the Elite 3200 or even the 4200 if you can swing it. A lot of places are putting them on clearance right now, and they're nice scopes for the money.

I have the 4-12x Trophy on my Savage .22, and an Elite 6500 on my Mini SASS.

I don't know what you're budget is, but the 4-12x40 AO 3200 Elite is on sale at Cabelas for $219.99 ($100 off) right now. I would have bought this for my Savage instead of the Trophy if it would have been on sale at the time.

Bushnell makes some good scopes. Even their lower models are good.

My hunting .30/06 wore a "cheap" 3-9x Sportview for over 25 years. It's been through the mill. It's been dropped (by my brother) and submerged (moi!) and was still going strong. I still have that scope, however it's now mounted on my Marlin .22mag rifle.

I replaced the Sportview with a 3-9x 3200 series scope and have not had any complaints or issues in several years. It is a very good scope, on par with more expensive scopes out there.
