Default No Weapons Policies - unless they tell you it's okay(?)

So the place that financed my car has a sign on the front door that says "NO FIREARMS." However, the folks that work there have specifically told me that they are okay with me carrying there since they know who I am and they like me. One person working there said it and two others who were present agreed.

What the legality of me carrying there now?

Assuming that the person was acting within the scope of their authority and such scope included the ability to give you a waiver of the 'NO FIREARMS' policy, IMO you are legal in that you can't be convicted of trespass.

A property owner or tenant can give you an exclusion from their own rules.

I can say "no concealed guns" on my property, but then exempt myself and any other person I wish.

I would think that decision is up to the owner and not the employees.

Besides it looking like discrimination, (Not racial), i would have to agree with CrazyWhiteGuy on this one, especially if it was an employee and not the owner. All it takes is one issue, and it is a he said she said thing. Employees risking the loss of their jobs if they had allowed you and no one else to carry, are gonna say they did not grant that exception for you.

Well, I remember hearing that signs hold no legal weight in PA, right?

So unless you are asked to leave, you're good

And my local car dealer (http://www.freedomchryslerjeepdodge.com/index.htm) didn't even bat an eyelash when I OCed during the purchase, the day following to do some paperwork, or when I went back to get a spare key done up.

Oh, and prior to that day they didn't know me from Adam.

So where is the line between a sign on one entrance in sub-microscopic print in the lower corner of the door and a sign in 200pt red font on every possible entrance?
