Buying a shotgun out of state
I have a co-worker who lives in Maryland and I live in Pennsylvania. He would like to sell me his 16 gauge shotgun. He originally purchased the gun from his son who is in the Navy, stationed in Norfolk. My co-worker has no paperwork concerning registration in MD or bill of sale. If I were to purchase this shotgun, what will I have to do in terms of transporting it from MD to my home in PA. After getting it to my house, am I required to register the shotgun? If so, with who? I don't intend to take the shotgun out of the house other than to the range occasionally. Any information that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Buying a shotgun out of state
This is a interstate transfer. The shotgun must be delivered by the present owner to a FFL in any state and you must fill out a 4473 form.
There is NO registration in PA.Last edited by knight0334; March 10th, 2011 at 10:42 AM.
