Voiding a warranty
I know that firing reloads through a gun is a sure ticket to void your warranty, but how can a factory tell you were shooting reloads? Afterall you were the witness to oh lets just say a kaboom. So it is your word against theirs but you were actually present.

Re: Voiding a warranty
Everything is fine with my guns, I was just reading a post about someones gun who did blow up, and was only wondering how a manufacturer could determine whether or not reloads were used. I only use factory loads.

Re: Voiding a warranty
Your right, they probably can not tell for sure, so it comes down to honesty. The shooter knows if he or she was using reloads, and then has to make the decision as to if they will take resposability or pass the buck onto someone else.
Do all gun makers say no to reloads?

Re: Voiding a warranty
I'm just guessing here, but I imagine they will go over the gun and determine what failed. From that I believe they will be able to tell if the gun failed or if the ammo was at fault. Whether it was factory ammo or a reload, if the ammo was at fault, they are probably not going to pay to fix your gun.

Silly internet goobers. Everybody who knows anything, knows that all they have to do is download the history from the black box every gunmaker is required to install. it's right there under the grips!
