Smile Ruger Hunter Model Worth the Money???

Pretty much says it all, I have been in the market for a 22LR to plink with and target shoot. I love the look of the fire arm, and really want it but having a hard time dropping 5 bills. I know there are plenty of other Ruger 22s out there but this one is beautiful and will be for my son when he gets older..... Help!!!

All Ruger Mark series pistols are excellent plinkers and target guns, look for a MKII standard or bull bbl, mount a scope and have a blast, teach you kids and then your grandkids with the same gun,no need to spend $500,$300 with a scope is all you should need to spend.

Well, if you're worried about getting your monies worth, I wouldn't worry. This gun will out live you, your boy, his kids, their kids. You can get less expensive .22's but not too many will be as good as a Ruger (in my opinion, but I am biased FOR Rugers, I own about 15 Ruger handguns, including 2 Mark III's and none have failed me yet). I've also owned a few Mark I's and II's in my lifetime and none were anything other than good shooting .22's. I even used one for metallic silhouette competition.

I own a Mark III Hunter with the 6.something inch barrel and I can say it is every bit worth 500 bucks. I have shot perhaps 10,000 rounds through mine since I got it about a year or so ago and it has been flawless. (I have only cleaned two or three times)

The precision and accuracy of the Hunter model has been fantastic for me. It hits where I want it to, every time. If mine were somehow destroyed or stolen I would not hesitate to buy another one the next day.
