Default Guns prohibited at Marquee Cinema in downtown Scranton

Sent this E-mail to the Marquee Cinemas at Steamtown in Scranton:
As a Scranton resident, I would like to patronize your movie theater in downtown Scranton. I take my wife and 3 children's safety very seriously and have a valid PA License to Carry Firearms. Unfortunately, the theater in Scranton has plenty of decals in the entrance doors prohibiting firearms within the premises, even those lawfully carried by people with licenses. All the other theaters in the area have no such postings.
As much as I would like to patronize a Scranton business, I will not jeopardize my safety or that of my family. I respectfully urge you to remove the 'no firearms' decals from the doors and issue a policy of compliance with state law when it comes to firearms.
    Thanks for your consideration!

    Good letter, good luck.

They do get to choose, their private property. But letting them know you will not spend money there helps. Get other in the local community to do the same.

The Cinemark in Moosic doesn't allow guns, either. There are bright neon green stickers on the doors past the ticket booths. The new IMAX theater in Dickson City doesn't have any signs saying that guns are banned.

That sounds a little shady having the sign past the point where you pay. Wonder if it is even legal and enforceable. Do the signs have to be posted on the outer door?

Hmmm, I've must've missed them before. Thanks for letting me now, I was about to go there in a couple of hours with my wife and kids. Doing some research online, it turns out that Cinemark is rabidly anti-gun.

    Dickson City, here we come.

Not as shady as the Steamtown Mall putting tiny little stickers on their doors at ankle level. Unless you're a midget or crawling on all fours, there's no way you would ever notice them.

The guy that runs the Marquee is not vehemently anti-gun (he used to run the theaters up by K-mart in DC).

His lease, however, forbids them. That property is part of the mall.

I guess I'll have to redirect my letters to the mall administration.

Please tell these places to save the sticker money...unless they search every person coming into the bldg i will not put myself or my family in jeaporady by being unarmed. if one is legally armed then to me these signs mean nothing. concealed carry is just what it says. no one needs to know except the criminal if and when the times comes and then they can throw me outy of their dam movie, store etc..... end of rant..
