Philly-Florida Loophole Bill Signed
Mayor Nutter signed City Council Bill 100722-A into law on 02/25/2011. Which as everyone knows violates state law. Follow the link below to read the bill:

Re: Philly-Florida Loophole Bill Signed
So are they saying NJ residents can't carry on nonresident permits from other states? That bill is worth less than the paper it's printed on. When will your governor kindly inform them that their bill holds no water?

Re: Philly-Florida Loophole Bill Signed
The problem is that it DOES hold water. At least for the average subject..err, citizen. These so-called laws stand until someone with enough money and time fight them. If it were not so, why then are there so many 'minor' preemption violations in our municipalities?
The thugs will get away with this, because it is difficult and expensive to challenge their ATHORI-TAY!

Actually, after the Muller case wins we'll have lawyers who will go after them on contingency so it won't cost a thing.

"To my mind it is wholly irresponsible to go into the world incapable of preventing violence, injury, crime, and death. How feeble is the mindset to accept defenselessness. How unnatural. How cheap. How cowardly. How pathetic." -- Ted Nugent

I am sure a supermajority of Nutters key constituency are not going to be effected by this law as they are criminals anyway or related to one or helped raise one on our tax dollars.
You need to be a legal gun owner to get a florida permit so i fail to see this as a loophole. I wish delaware would honor a florida permit for a delaware resident

2. No person shall carry a firearm upon the public streets or upon any public property at any time unless that person is:
(b) actively engaged in a defense of his life or property from imminent
peril or threat;
Any thoughts on how the author of this bill envisioned exception b) happening in real life? (not in a Star Trek world where firearms can be beamed into your hand when needed.)
I think simply entering Philadelphia poses imminent peril.

§ 6120. Limitation on the regulation of firearms and ammunition.
(a) General rule.--No county, municipality or township may
in any manner regulate the lawful ownership, possession,
transfer or transportation of firearms, ammunition or ammunition
components when carried or transported for purposes not
prohibited by the laws of this Commonwealth.
Hmmmm...i guess this statute is just a typo or something since its being completely disregarded.

Re: Philly-Florida Loophole Bill Signed
According to city ordinance you are prohibited, however the state law says you're good to go. State law supersedes local law so you're still good to go. That said it doesn't mean you can't be arrested and end up in court to sort it out.
Note: It has come to the attention of the Office of Attorney General that there has been confusion over the applicability of Pennsylvania's reciprocal privileges with regard to the residency status of an individual who has been issued a valid license/permit. It is the position of the Office of Attorney General that recognition within Pennsylvania is based on the issuance to an individual of a valid license/permit by the reciprocal contracting state, and not on the license/permit holder's place of residence.
