    Default Finally. Dominant hand shooting

Shot with my dominant hand for the first time in a year after 3 surgeries.

It felt good but not comfortable.
I still cannot use the ring and pinky digits very well so have adapted to using
the thumb, pointer and middle fingers primarily with the last 2 fingers as--well, they just don't do anything, YET .

    I fired 3 Glocks (G23s & G21), Colt 1991 A1, S&W 66 and 19 with .38s,Kahr P9,Colt mustang.Perhaps a bit too much .

Gunhandling is a diminishing skill and I am a first hand witness to this. I know there is little more involved than stance, grip, sight alignment, sight picture, trigger manipulation and follow through. Sounds simple enough but it took quite a few rounds to get even marginally back on track to eventually hit an 8" round at 25 yds.

I didn't get into presentations, reloads, or multiple shot drills.

I'm still a few months out with therapy (160 + physical therapy visits to date) and doctors visits to determine if the pinky finger is coming off. With the minimal progress I've made since having an artificial knuckle installed last Nov.,I think I will opt to have it cut off unless it magically responds ( what I'm hoping for).
The artificial knuckle was installed after it was determined the knuckle was crushed beyond rehabilitation.

    A work in progress.

Hopefully I'll be able to schedule another basic pistol class by fall.
If not, I guess there's next year.

Accident + 10 days it looked like this. Pins went in to wrist.

I pretty frustrated with progress and think removal of the pinky finger will promote usage of the rest of the fingers. It's just that part about removal is permanent that's somewhat bothersome. The upside is that without the pinky, the kahr P9 Covert grip will not extend beyond the flush fit mag.
Looks like the pinky knuckle went in crooked.

Whatever happens, it'll be almost perfect when it's over.

    You healed up well.

    Glad to see it.

And on the other hand (yes, pun intended) there's nothing like being able to shoot well with either hand.

I seem to remember this has been a long time coming, I'm glad to see you're finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

    Congrats!
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.
