CC during State Paddy's Day in State college

Hi everyone.

Last night (Saturday) I concealed my Bersa when I was downtown during State Paddy's Day. I wasn't drinking, but my fiance and a couple of our friends wanted to go out. I decided to be the responsible one and drive everyone, as well as excercise my 2nd amendment right. I have to say, I've never experienced such an incredibly drunk crowd of idiots. I was very cautious and I didn't want to take any chances.

I'm wondering if there was anyone else last night who was responsible and was packing heat during the festivities.

I actually left town for the "event". I decided it was a little too wild for my tastes, so I went to my girlfriends for the weekend.

All of my friends told me how crazy everything was.

I almost went to State Pattys day... My frat has a sister house there and PARTY!!!! But I had work at 5am today... So I decided against going... sigh...

I understand not wanting to go. I'm not a very public person, and this whole "event" isn't really my type of thing. However, seeing as how this is my last State Paddy's Day as a student, as well as my fiance's, I figured I'd at least go see what it's all about. I don't trust people in general. Especially in large mobs. Especially when there's A LOT of alcohol..... Especially college kids partying for the sake of partying..... So I figure CC was a good decision. I definitely would not have OC. Especially with how tight the bars were and how many people were within arms reach of me while being heavily intoxicated.

Let me repeat. I have NEVER experienced something like this. It was utterly ridiculous the things I wittnessed. I drove through town this morning at 0530 just to see the damage and trash.... It was just.... just.... indescribable.

They call it State Patty's day. One year there was a riot around St patrick's day weekend. They decided to have spring break around that time to stop it from happening again. Students decided to have a State Patty's Day. Most of the arrests this year were not Penn State Students but out of town people.

Most that live any where near State College know to stay away from there on State Patty's weekend. Many bars close voluntarily due to all the crap that happens on that weekend.

They moved Spring Break so the students would be out of town around St Patty's day weekend. Thus State Patty's day started.

we didnt riot back in my day. we just drank.
