Firearms Instructor needed for weapons qualification
Hello everyone,
I am in possession of current Act 235 with firearms stamp and transistioning from sworn law enforcement into private security. Although my 235 is current (Expires 2/12 and will undergo recert this fall), I prefer to undergo a fresh weapons qualification and maintain this documentation. My last weapons qual was July '10 prior to my leaving law enforcement. My duty weapon is a Glock 22 .40 caliber.
I recently started a armed detail, and desire to have a fresh weapons qualification. Are there any Instructors available who are willing to provide this update at a reasonable cost??
In our litigious society, I would prefer to undergo annual weapons training. Been grilled by too many defense attorneys as a cop and can't say I enjoyed it. I appreciate your time and look forward to your response.
Thank You!
Ed

Re: Firearms Instructor needed for weapons qualification
Ed,
Does the company you are working for require any sort of firarms qualification? I am also Act 235 certified and most of the places I worked at required me to go through their certification at least once a year.
Another thought is to call Act 235 schools in your area and see if any of thier firearm instructors are willing to run you through a qualification (maybe during part of a recert class).
If you lived closer to Northampton county, I could give you some names of people here that could help (I am guessing you don't want to drive across PA for this qualification...).

Re: Firearms Instructor needed for weapons qualification
If you can't find someone more local, I have a guy that does it after the combat pistol shoots at our local range in the Oil City / Franklin area. Let me know if you need his info,
Glock Pistols.......So simple a Caveman could fix them!
