    Crafton man shot and killed

    Sunday, February 27, 2011
    Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
    Brian Natali

A Crafton man was killed this morning in what appears to have been an accidental shooting.

Brian Natali, 29, was pronounced dead at UPMC Mercy at 2:55 a.m.

A news release from city homicide detectives indicates Mr. Natali was shot at 2:15 a.m. in the 1500 block of Baldwick Road in East Carnegie.

Police said Mr. Natali was a front seat passenger in a vehicle being driven by his wife when a rear seat passenger discharged a firearm inside the vehicle.

"The round from the firearm went through the front passenger seat, striking the victim in the back,'' according to the police statement.

The man who discharged the firearm was identified by police as Joshua Porter, 27. No home address was immediately available. Police said no charges have been filed. Mr. Porter was questioned by police then released.

    The incident remains under investigation.

Anyone want to wager that Mr. Porter is somehow connected to the LE community, and this is merely a "tragic accident?"

Either that or he was bawing like a baby and/or pale as a ghost, and the cop knew right away this guy fucked up on accident. Wonder if they took the firearm and gave him a receipt? It is involuntary homicide but I hate that charge, seriously if you dropped a hammer on someones head I don't think you should go to jail for it. This guy should be sued for any real loss though..

There is absolutely no way to even guess at what happened by reading that.

Years ago a woman I worked with lost her husband to a "random shooting" as he drove home from work. He stopped at a stop sign and was shot by a man with a gun. Totally random shooting - at least that was the initial story.

Turned out to be a drug buy gone bad.

I'm not so sure of that. If someone is doing stupid things with a hammer over someone's head and kills them it was an avoidable action. There is a price to pay for stupidity. Stupid actions with hammers, cars or guns...it's all the same, responsibility for one's actions.
